Bad News: Hulu will start charging for content in 2010

Over the past year I have become a big fan of Hulu - when I am on the road and have a crappy 26-inch Zenith TV in the room with poor reception it saves me from suffering through broadcast TV while still giving me my Heroes fix.

Sadly, it sounds like that will change next year EW is reporting that Hulu plans to start charging for content in 2010 - meaning I will stop using it. I already have a Netflix subscription - and that will work fine. Hulu had newer content - but not enough for me to pay yet another fee to use.

Hopefully enough people get up in arms about this to stop it from happening - or another service will come and take it's place. Only time will tell.

PSA: Amazon has the new Stephen King Hardcover for $9

Just a quick note here to let you know that Amazon has the new Stephen King hardcover for $9.

There seems to be some sort of price pissing match between Wal-Mart and Amazon with the book and Wal-Mart has it online for $8.99 as well (more info on that at CNet).

Cover price is $35 so this is one hell of a deal either way. Gotta love online deals!

R.I.P. Patrick Swayze

Sad news tonight that actor Patrick Swayze has passed away at age 57. If you have not seen Road House a screening is in order to remember the great man's work.

Movie Trailer Thursday: The Wolfman

Happy Thursday to you all and today I am not posting the trailer for Avatar - you can find it everywhere else on the web and I am honestly not that jazzed to see it anyway. I am excited to see The Wolfman with Benicio Del Toro. Check it out...



Looks pretty cool and Del Toro is one of those actors who I always want to see. The Wolfman comes out on February 12, 2010 and will hopefully be well worth the wait.

Quick Review: District 9

Happy Monday to you all - here is a quick review of District 9 - a movie that looked great in the trailers and is even better on the screen.

This is such a smart sci-fi film and sadly that is something that is pretty rare these days. If you removed the aliens and replaced them with humans this would still be a great film (and would likely be up for awards at the start of next year). As it stands it is the best film I have seen this summer and one of the best Science Fiction films I have seen ever.

You need to see this ASAP - it is well worth the time. There is a pretty great video review of the film online at The Escapist - check it out for even more info.
