Do you use Firefox - you really should!

So I have spent the last few days fiddling with the Project Playlist music player you see on the left hand side of the blog now. It is pretty cool - you sign up for free make a playlist and post it on your site - be it Myspace, Blogger, or whatever. It works pretty well and I have been pleasantly surprised by the variety of music on the site - but getting the player to work in the column was a pain in the ass. I have it working pretty well for now - at least in Firefox.

That brings me to the subject of this post - are any of you still using Internet Explorer these days? I no longer use it at home or on my work laptop - but still have to in the studio at the station and every time I use it I am glad I made the switch to Firefox.

Firefox is a free download for windows, mac, and linux and is all open source (that means free!). The browser itself is easy to use (just as easy as IE I think) and has a ton of great add ons that make it work even better.

I HATE ads when I am trying to read something online. All those "Do you want to take part in a short survey" pop ups on sites like IGN drive me nuts and thanks to Adblock Plus and Filterset G Updater I never see ads in Firefox.

Firefox is also cool because there is a real community of users out there - they may not have the backing of a mega-corporation like Microsoft - but Firefox users can help you figure out any problems you might have.

Firefox also updates quite a bit and is safer to use than IE 7 ever thought of being. If you are like me you spend most of your day online and want a web browser that just works and does what you want it to do. Firefox is the answer.
